It was a long journey to Halong Bay. We flew from Hué to Hanoi and then a long bus ride from Hanoi to Halong. When we arrived in Halong we found ourselves at a modern, skyscraper hotel with a rooftop bar overlooking Halong Bay. We cruised the bay the next day and explored caves. The natural  beauty was breathtaking. Returning from Halong Bay we moved outside of the Vietnamese and Chinese fire walls and heard news of Trumps election to president in the USA.
