The Imperial City of Hué

Hué has been a cultural and imperial hub for centuries. Ruins similar to Ankor Wat are found not far from Hué and indicate the power that the Hindu kingdoms had on the region. The Chinese established a fiefdom in Hué that lead to centuries of cultural sharing between the Chinese and the Vietnamese. Hué would be the site of fierce battles during the Vietnam War with Viet Cong controlled territories immediately north of Hué and South Vietnamese and American forces in the South. Today, Hué is an up and coming town ready to embrace tourism from around Vietnam and the world!
